Fans have been waiting long enough to hear about the Black Ops 2 Hardened Edition, but now that it’s finally been announced, it turns out there’s an even more exciting edition coming out as well called the Care Package edition, which will come with a remote controlled drone—that’s one you can play with in real life!
The Hardened Edition is going to include a steelbook case, a soundtrack, challenge coins, and additional DLC. The challenge coins are the key to receiving the additional exclusive digital content. You’ll also receive Weapon Camo, an exclusive multiplayer weapon skin, 2 Player Card Backgrounds, the Xbox LIVE Avatar Prop, the Xbox LIVE Zombies Avatar Costume, and, of course, the Nuketown 2025 bonus map. It’s been revealed that the remake of the map is “re-imagined in a 1960s visionary depiction of the ‘model home of the future.’” The press release also mentions a “Nuketown Zombies Bonus Map.” Since the map is listed twice, we assume this is two different versions of the map—one being the retro-futurist re-imagining, the other being the classic Nuketown map with zombies. The PS3 version of the Hardened edition will also include a dynamic multiplayer theme of the Turbine map and a dynamic zombies theme. The Hardened Edition will sell for $79.99.
A Digital Deluxe Edition for the same price has been announced as well. This edition will come with the Weapon Camo, Player Card Backgrounds, soundtrack, and a Call of Duty: World at War Game Download Token, which allows you to get a digital download of the classic COD title which takes place during World War II. As with the Hardened Edition, you get the Nuketown 2025 Bonus Map and the Nuketown Zombies Bonus Map.
Finally, the most exciting edition is going to be the Care Package, which will retail for $179.99 and will come in a replica Care Package crate, just like the ones featured in the game. This package will include everything found in the other two packages, along with something really exciting, a Remote Controlled MQ-27 Dragonfire Drone. This is not digital content—this is a real gadget you can control, a little high-tech glimpse of the future you can play with in your backyard!
