We’ve finally gotten our first look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s multiplayer mode through a series of screenshots released on IGN. Fans have been waiting for months to get some glimpse of what they can expect from the next installment, but until now there was little to go on. We’ve learned a lot about single-player mode, but for most people, multiplayer is the meat of a Call of Duty game. The screenshots were leaked by an employee of IGN and have since been removed, but here is what we learned (unfortunately we were unable to save them).

Most of the news involves killstreaks. The entire selection interface has been changed for the PC version of the game (and possibly for other platforms). CLAW and FA-38 have both become killstreak options. There is now a select fire option available for certain weapons, and the name of the XM8 has changed to M8A1. The highest rank before prestige will be 55. Unfortunately that’s about all we could figure out from the screenshots. It seems that Activision didn’t want those images floating around, although thankfully they have just realized a brand new trailer which sheds some light on developments.
