Ever since the official reveal of Black Ops 2 earlier this month, we’ve received a lot of information about the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise. Recently Mark Lamia, head of Treyarch studio, told PlayStation magazine that Black Ops 2’s zombie mode is a real-game mode, and not just a mini-game like the zombie mode which was featured in the original Black Ops. This is very exciting since we had been hearing rumors for some time that Black Ops 2 would have some kind of a zombie-story mode. Now that’s seeming more and more like it may be true. There may also be some kind of co-op zombie mode.

Another great piece of news is that you can now have twice as many players in co-op mode as you could before (8 instead of 4). This is something a lot of fans were asking for online, and it turns out that the developers have been listening. With more players on the co-op teams, there will be more zombies, which means more intense zombie killing fun! This will call for bigger maps too, which we’ll also be receiving as part of the deal. It’s great to see Treyarch taking all these fan requests into account and turning them into a reality. It makes one pause and wonder how many other fan requests will be incorporated into the next game as well. It’s a very exciting time—zombies mode was already one of the best features of the first Black Ops, so we can only imagine how amazing it’s going to be in Black Ops 2!
