Of all the features of Black Ops 2, perhaps the most highly anticipated is the zombies mode. Fans have been clambering for news on the zombies since the announcement that Black Ops 2 was coming, but there hasn’t been a whole lot of information yet. Recently however Mark Lamia related some more info during an interview and said that the new zombies mode will be more complex than the previous ones and will include more advanced tactics. “The strategies will blow your mind in this one,” Lamia explained, and said that there will be an eight player mode along with the original four player mode. There is going to be more back story implemented, and it’s been hinted that we’ll finally learn where the zombies came from and how they fit into the Call of Duty universe.
Apparently another twist is that players will actually be able to become zombies through infection, at which point the player’s class will change to a unique zombie class with different abilities. At this point the player will need to fight using those abilities. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out and how the class changes in mid-game will impact the game play. Infection seems to imply that zombie mode will be played as a free-for-all (how would you integrate team play into a game where players can be turned on each other?). Hopefully more news on the zombies is coming soon; you can be sure you’ll read it here first when it does!

It would be interesting to see how the new zombies game mode plays out, but we would never know until the game comes out.
